Sanwo-Olu Commissions The 18.75 Kilometer Expressway In Lagos State.
The governor of Lagos State, His Excellency Babajide Sanwo-Olu did share a post where he commissioned the eighteen kilometers and seventy-five meters expressway leading from Eleko to Ekpe T-junction in Lagos state.
"Today, we commissioned the new eighteen kilometer and seventy-five meters expressway from Eleko to Epe T-Junction, turning a two-lane rural roadway to a six-lane rigid concrete carriageway."
Sanwo-Olu said this construction feat marks a significant improvement in their effort to redevelop the rural road, built over forty years ago.
According to Sanwo-Olu, before reconstruction, the infrastructure was in decrepit shape due to upsurge in average daily traffic volumes, subjecting road users to delay and hardship.
"After commissioning the completed first phase of the road, we immediately flagged off the second phase of the road project, which will extend the construction from the Eleko axis to Abraham Adesanya Roundabout." - wrote the governor of Lagos state.
He also said the project’s second phase would however be done in two segments, for ease of funding and to reduce the traffic impact of the construction on commuters.
According to the governor, the eighteen kilometers and seventy-six meters first segment, will take off from Eleko to Awoyaya and to critical sections around Majek and Ogidan. While the second segment, which is eleven kilometers, will kick off at Ogidan, down to Abraham Adesanya Roundabout.
