Check Out the 3 Busiest Markets in Port Harcourt, Nigeria (Opinion).

If there is one thing that Port Harcourt, Nigeria has, it’s a lot of busy places, and some of those busy places are these markets which I would mention in this article. These market are fun places and they are the following that is listed below:

1. The Creek Road Market:

The creek road market is one of the busy markets that we have in Port Harcourt. This market has a lot of goods and services that are being sold in it. You can get things like fish, chicken, tomatoes, rice, beans, and lots more. You can also get services like barrow services, transport services and so much more. This market is attended by a lot of people. The most attendance is on Monday and Friday. These are the days that are referred to as market days, and so, a lot of sellers, as wells as buyers take advantage of it to transact in the market. The market is located after Lagos bus stop in Port Harcourt.

Sellers in the Creek road market often use umbrellas as their source of shade. There are others who use stores but this category of sellers is very few in number. Some sellers also do their business on the road side. The government has tried their possible best to stop this kind of business but all their effort has proven abortive. I honestly don’t know why the sellers prefer to sell at the road side but it may be that they want to get more customers or so (my own opinion).

Another thing about this market is that it is not that clean in nature. Even though you can literally find everything you need in terms of food stuffs and provision, the environment is not that friendly at all. Asides this fact, this market is a very nice place to be as a buyer and also as a seller. This is because things are a bit cheaper in this market that some of the other ones.

2. The Mile One Market:

Another busy market in Port Harcourt Nigeria is the Mile one market. The Mile one market is located at the Mile one bus stop in Port Harcourt. You can get to Mile one by taking any commercial bus after telling them that you want to stop at the Mile one bus stop. The Mile one market is a big market. It has some structures, and a lot of umbrellas. People sell in stores but there are others who sell without these stores.

When being compared to the Creek road market, the Mile one market is cleaner. However, it is not that easy to navigate as the Creek road market. There are a lot of routes, and you may get lost if you are not careful. Therefore, it is important that you survey the area very well before seeking to explore this market.

You can get a lot of things from this market. In fact, I feel that clothes are sold at the cheapest price here. However, there are other commodities like watches, food stuffs and much more that are sold in this market. This market has a lot of sellers, and a lot of buyers also patronize it on a daily basis. There are even people who buy from this market on Sundays.

3. The Mile Three Market:

The Mile Three market is another busy market in Port Harcourt. I have not really navigated through this market but my recent front observations have proven that it should be part of our list. This market is just like the Creek road market. However, it is less organized than the Creek road market. The Mile three market is located at the Mile three bus stop in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. It is the home of various commodities such as beverages, food stuffs, detergents and soaps, and lots more.

Many people come to the Mile Three market to buy and sell. This market is visited on a daily basis. My observation showed that there are many people who sell under umbrella and other kinds of small shades rather than a store. However, there is a lot that can be gotten from this market, and I feel that people who sell here would get tons of customers.
