Writing of their official Facebook page, the University of Lagos has revealed some useful tips to try if you are worried about not doing enough revision before the examination. The content of the post goes thus:
" Are you worried you haven' t done enough revision?
Be calm. You' ve got this!
Try the following:
" Focus on your weak points. Zero in on the aspects you feel the least confident about and make them simpler for you to understand. "
" Attempt practice questions in a conversational manner. Saying words that you study out loud helps you remember them better. Having a study partner can help with this. Alternatively, you can pace back and forth, holding the conversation with yourself. "
" Make flash cards of study points. This will help you organize your studying and remember the details associated with each point better. Using the different colours in colorful sticky notes may help with this as you can associate the answers to the colours of the flash cards, According to colour psychology, colour is the most important visual experience to human beings. It functions as powerful information channel to the human cognitive system and has been found to play significant role in enhancing memory performance. "
" Create a mind map. Using the colour coded flash cards above, create a map in your mind which links each point to form a bigger picture. This will help you attempt questions from different perspectives using the points you made as prompters for detailed answers to questions. "
" Drink water. Stay hydrated. According to a study conducted by the universities of East London and Westminster, students who drink water before an exam could expect 10% higher scores than those who do not. "
" Block out distractions. You' ve had enough screen time today. Now it' s time to pick up your study materials and try some of the tips above. Don' t worry, all the IG reels and Twitter banters will still be there for you to catch up on later. "
Remember, you are all you need to be a success …. "
