ASUU Strike: 2 Things That May Take Place As a Result of Soohemba's Suit Against Buhari and Others.

It was recently revealed that a final year law student of the Benue State university named Soohemba Agatha Aker filed a suit against the president of Nigeria, President Muhamadu Buhari, alongside his 36 governors and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). This event came as huge surprise to the public. I personally never expected it to take this turn. However, this act of this final year law student, in my own opinion, would cause three things to take place. These 2 things can be regarded as the after effects of this suit. Without further ado, they are as follows:

1. Support From Other Students:

Soohemba’s post has already gotten a lot of reactions online. Many of these reactions are from students, and they have expressed their heartfelt desire and opinion over this issue. Looking through these comments, it was observed that there were people who supported the notion of this final year student. These ones applauded her actions and they saw it as necessary in a time like this.

If this trend continues to go on, and more people continue to support this lady’s notion, there could be a big student oriented force that would be aimed at bringing the students back to school. If you check the social media pages, you would begin to see what I am talking about.

2. An Substitute Decision from ASUU:

Prior to the suit of this final year student, it was revealed that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) had rejected the courts order of going back to school, and so, they said their lawyer was preparing an appeal as regards the issue. However, the decision of this lady may cause the ASUU board to change their minds on reverting the court's order. It may not necessarily be out of fear but it could be out of compassion for the students who have stayed home for a very long period of time. For this lady to have come out openly to file this suit, it really means that she is fed up of the whole issue, and the ASUU board, on seeing this, may want to reconsider and let the students go back to school as soon as possible. This decision, if it comes, would serve as a substitute decision from ASUU as regarding the one they made earlier on.

We all pray that the situation turns out positively and the students are sent back to school in no distant time. What are your thoughts on this? Please share them in the comments section below. Also, kindly share this article so that others could benefit also.
